I what to say beware of this company. They may be fine if you want to rent but I warren you if you want to leave a very different matter. They will do all in the power to steal some or all of your deposit. We had to fight tooth and nail to get your back. They sent invoice for cleaning, stating they dusted and polished furniture, this was an unfurnished flat charged for cleaning cooker and appliance they were no appliance, repainting walls totally untrue the lies go on and invoice also stated this was from a company that was dissolved in 2014, staff were rude and very intimating. Take as many picture before and take thousand before you leave if you want your full deposit back, a very nasty and dishonest company

What an easy, personable experience. The whole team have just been amazing from start to finish, particularly Della and Shona. The whole process from finding the property, to arranging the viewing, answering any questions I have had, to signing the lease - as friendly and as smooth as can be. The student accommodation is very well equipped. Each student has his own room (if he wants his own bathroom) and shared kitchen but everything is managed well and the price is really cheap compared to the alternatives. The location is really close to Abertay University (3 minutes) and close to the city center (5 minutes). The staff is very kind. The cleaning lady is very kind as a mother. My stay of 2 months was satisfactory from all points of view.

How do I receive the rent payments?

Yes, landlords often request bank statements to confirm your income, rent affordability, and financial habits. They look for regular earnings, stable cash flow, and any signs of financial risk like frequent overdrafts.

Can Westport help with legal eviction if needed?

There is no official minimum credit score, but most letting agents in Scotland expect at least a “Fair” score (around 600–650 on Experian). Applicants with higher scores and clean credit histories have a better chance of approval.

Is this service available for just one property?

Landlords can legally share factual details like rent payment history, tenancy conduct, and property condition. Any information passed on must comply with the GDPR and must not be defamatory or misleading.

What if I already have a tenant in place?

Paying six months’ rent upfront may reduce the need for a guarantor, but this depends on the landlord’s or letting agent’s policy. Some landlords still require a guarantor for added financial protection.
